Sedation Dentistry
Nitrous Oxide Sedation
With nitrous oxide sedation, a small mask is placed over a patient’s nose, and they breathe in a mixture of the gas and oxygen. After a few minutes, a feeling of warmth, calm, and slight numbness will be felt throughout the body. The mask stays on for the entire appointment, and once it is removed, the effects go away rather quickly. This means a patient can resume their normal day and won’t have any lasting drowsiness afterward.
